Man busted for running illegal sports merchandise business out of his mom’s garage, N.J. authorities say

Authorities arrested a man accused of running an illegal sports merchandise company out of his mother’s garage.

Christopher Patire, 39, of Jersey City, was arrested following a search warrant at his mother’s house and charged with second-degree counterfeiting offenses, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement on Friday.

The warrant was executed at the home, located on Home Place in Lodi, about 7 a.m. on March 11. During the search, detectives found about 1,400 items with altered professional sports league logos, officials said…
