Farrand Hall, the rural dining hall outside Colon that has become a pilgrimage spot for serious food fans, is officially for sale at a $2.05 million asking price. The 11.77-acre estate and ticketed-dinner operation went on the market this month after the owners said the business had been operating at a loss. James Gray and Jacob Hagan had transformed the historic property into a regional dining destination, then stretched the brand into a downtown bakery and other off-site ventures.

According to Crain’s Detroit, the property hit the market after Farrand Hall logged financial losses. A commercial listing posted last Wednesday pegs the price at $2.05 million and notes that the sale includes the Farrand Hall brand along with all furniture, fixtures and equipment, according to the MLS posting on Max Broock. The listing identifies the address as 58522 Farrand Road and shows roughly 11.77 acres in the package.

Farrand Hall’s Guest Chef Series has become the venue’s calling card, turning a quiet stretch of Southwest Michigan into a revolving stage for Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized talent.
