Say goodbye to sheriffs at US airport security and hello to private companies after deputies removed

SHERIFF’S deputies are out, and private guards are in after one US airport made a big security switch to cut costs.

The move ends a setup that had kept sworn law enforcement inside the terminal for more than 20 years.

At Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport in Michigan, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office stopped providing airport security on February 28.
