Long Beach’s Our Spot Coffee & Goods is trading in its nomadic pop-up routine for a permanent home, locking in a lease at 2221 Palo Verde Ave. Husband-and-wife duo Chris and Ali McColl say the Palo Verde address will serve as their first standalone shop, with doors expected to open this summer. It is a milestone that caps roughly three years of residencies and short-term gigs, during which the pair has cultivated a loyal local crowd.
As reported by What Now Los Angeles, the deal for the Palo Verde space is done, and the couple is targeting a summer launch. In announcing the move, the brand publicly thanked its customers and collaborators, writing, “We have so much gratitude for everyone that has helped us get here.”
From Pop-Up Lifers To Brick-And-Mortar Owners
Our Spot fine-tuned its identity and menu through a string of residencies and collaborations, including a long-running pop-up inside Belmont Shore’s Liv’s and tie-ins with other local concepts. According to Longbeachize, the McColls used those stints to experiment with playful drinks, from riff-heavy matcha concoctions to fruit-forward espresso creations, before committing to a permanent shop. That test-and-learn strategy helped build steady demand and a vocal base of regulars who followed the pop-up wherever it landed.
