Milton man indicted on drug, gun charges

MILTON, Fla. (WKRG) — A Milton man has been indicted on federal drug and gun charges, according to U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Florida, 27-year-old Terrell Ta’Quez Parker was indicted on one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance involving more than 40 grams of a mixture and substance containing fentanyl and cocaine; and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Parker is set to go to trial on April 20 in Pensacola.

If convicted, he faces a minimum mandatory sentence of five years in prison up to 40 years on the possession with intent to distribute charge, and up to 15 years in prison on the firearm charge.

“An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt,” the release said. “All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.”…
