LODI, Calif. — A man was arrested in Lodi after allegedly stealing more than 500 gallons of diesel fuel from a local gas station, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
“They opened up our locks, and the locks they couldn’t get open, they got a pry bar and pulled it up enough to damaged the inside. Once they opened up the door panel, they got in and had access to all the electrical,” Michael Kludt of Kludt Oil and Propane said. “It probably took them five minutes at most between the two times they were here to splice all the wires and be on their way and start getting fuel.”
Kludt said more than 500 gallons of diesel fuel was being pumped into hidden tanks in the bed of a truck. According to police, the theft was interrupted when a customer noticed something unusual and called authorities…
