Woman found dead following overnight house fire on Northwest Side

CHICAGO — An investigation is underway on Saturday morning after a woman was found dead following an overnight house fire on the city’s Northwest Side.

According to Chicago police, the blaze erupted just after 1:30 a.m. at a home in the 2500 block of North Bernard Street, in Logan Square.

Chicago fire crews were able to stamp out the flames, but after they extinguished the fire, they found an 84-year-old woman unresponsive inside the home.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead…
