Funeral services are scheduled for this weekend for the two Iowa servicemen who were killed in the opening hours of the War with Iran. Services for Major Jeffrey O’Brien are set for Saturday in West Des Moines. And services for Sergeant Declan Coady will be on Saturday in Johnston. They were both killed in an Iranian drone strike on March 1.
The Johnson County Board of supervisors has decided Clear Creek Amana School District will not be getting a school resource officer. The board voted down a contract that would have allowed a Johnson County deputy to be an SRO for the district. This decision overrides the Clear Creek Amana school board, which unanimously approved getting an SRO. This is the second time the board has voted down the district getting an armed officer to patrol Clear Creek Amana schools. The first time was back in 2018…
