Pre‑Dawn Bloodshed In East Baltimore Leaves One Dead, One Wounded

Two separate pre‑dawn shootings in Baltimore on Saturday left one man dead and another in the hospital, in a grim one‑two punch that played out within about 90 minutes, authorities said. In the first case, a man showed up at a hospital around 3 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the leg. According to FOX45 News, officers reported that a 36‑year‑old man walked into a local hospital at about 3:00 a.m. seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg. Preliminary information suggests he was shot on the 3600 block of Hamilton Avenue, and police say he is in stable condition.

The station reports that about an hour and a half later, around 4:30 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of North Port Street. There, they found an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Baltimore Police Department’s Northeast District, district detectives are leading the Hamilton Avenue investigation, while Homicide Detectives are handling the North Port Street case.
