‘I had tears in my eyes,’ Seneca Babcock parents learn daycare services will continue

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Families who rely on daycare services through the Seneca Babcock Community Association say they no longer need to look elsewhere for childcare, even though services were set to end March 20.

“Now, knowing that we won’t have to worry about that is amazing,” said Melanie Charles, a Seneca Babcock parent. “They had exciting news to let us know that they will no longer be closing and they are staying open, and I just about lost it.”

Seneca Babcock was preparing to end all programs after losing its nonprofit status when required IRS filings weren’t submitted for years. CEO Brian Pilarski announced he’s stepping down once a new leader is chosen, after taking responsibility for the oversight…
