INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a fire broke out at a church on Indy’s near northwest side Friday night.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, at approximately 8:17 p.m., fire crews responded to Grace International Church in the 3700 block of W. 16th Street.
Occupants told crews that a passerby knocked on the door of the church, which had been conducting a prayer service, and alerted them of the fire on the roof.
Multiple 911 calls also reported seeing flames from the roof of the building. IFD made an “aggressive attack” on the fire and it had it under control in 40 minutes…
