HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Myrtle Beach man now faces 10 years in prison after he intentionally set his apartment on fire with his roommates inside before leading police on a chase, the Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office said.
Jake Licoski, 56, pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree arson after setting his Forestbrook-area apartment on fire in August.

According to the solicitor’s office, Licoski was mad that his three roommates were not renewing their lease with him due to his severe alcohol and substance abuse issues. As a result, he went to Home Depot and bought multiple gas canisters and filled them up at a local gas station.
The next day, Licoski poured the gas on his roommates’ doors and both stairwells before starting a fire, according to a forensic fire investigation. All three roommates were able to escape by jumping out of a second-floor window, but one sustained injuries to her feet from the flames…
