Rochester marks Diabetes Alert Day at City Hall with prevention and care resources

Rochester, N.Y. — Members of the Rochester community gathered at City Hall this morning for Diabetes Alert Day, a one-day event aimed at spreading education and awareness about the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of understanding the risks associated with the disease.

Organizers offered tools and resources designed to help people improve diabetes care management and prevention, while also promoting healthy lifestyle options.

“Diabetes is a very devastating disease if left unchecked,” said Dr. Faith D. Adams, Associate chief medical officer at Jordan Health Center. “One of the major issues is lack of access to good health care and social determinants of health such as healthy fruits and vegetables and information about medication, and Jordan health remains a pillar in the community to offer these services to our patient population.”…
