Starting April 2, drivers who exceed the posted speed limit in the I‑25 North Express Lanes work zone between Mead and Berthoud will receive a $75 civil penalty by mail. This follows a 30‑day warning period that began March 1, during which more than 4,000 warnings were issued and speeding dropped by 90%.
