Tumwater man arrested on $500K warrant after robbery, assault at Centralia park

A 20-year-old Tumwater man was arrested on Wednesday in connection to an armed robbery and assault that occurred Feb. 27 in Centralia.

According to a March 19 news release from the Centralia Police Department, the 20-year-old man was arrested in Fife on an outstanding $500,000 warrant for suspicion of first-degree robbery with a firearm and first-degree assault with a firearm.

According to the release, Centralia officers were dispatched Feb. 27 to a robbery involving a firearm at a local park. The victim was met by a group at the park and then punched and struck with a pistol while being robbed, the release said…
