Floor Collapse at Tamworth Wedding Venue Injures Six
TAMWORTH, N.H. – At least six individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries Saturday following a reported floor collapse at The Preserve at Chocorua, a wedding venue in Tamworth.
The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office has confirmed it is leading an active investigation into the incident. Officials stated that six people were transported to various area hospitals, though their injuries were not considered life-threatening. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
Multiple fire departments, alongside the Tamworth Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and New Hampshire State Police, responded to the scene. The road leading to the venue was temporarily closed to facilitate emergency operations.
Maine Health, a healthcare provider, informed local outlets that three patients arrived by ambulance, with additional victims being taken to other medical facilities.
The exact cause of the alleged collapse remains unclear as the investigation continues.
City Moose Catering, a company that has worked at the venue, expressed its sentiments in a social media post, stating they were “truly shaken by th[e] tragedy.” The company conveyed its thoughts to all those present at the event and acknowledged the ongoing work of first responders.
The Preserve at Chocorua has not yet released a statement regarding the incident.
