NOKOMIS, Fla. – A fatal traffic accident at the intersection of US 41 and Bayshore Road has prompted an emergency response and significant traffic delays in Nokomis. Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies are currently on the scene assisting the Florida Highway Patrol with an investigation into the crash, which resulted in one confirmed death.
The collision has forced authorities to close both the northbound and southbound fast lanes of North Tamiami Trail. These closures remain in effect while troopers conduct a forensic reconstruction of the scene and clear debris.
Law enforcement officials have issued a public notice stating that “citizens traveling in the area should expect traffic delays” for the foreseeable future. There is currently no estimated time for when the lanes will reopen to normal traffic…
