Indianapolis police officer charged with unlawful taking of deer in Steuben County

(WTHR) – An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer was placed on administrative duty after he was charged with unlawfully taking a deer in northeast Indiana.

According to the department, Indiana Conservation Officers visited Aaron Mauk at his Fishers residence at around 8:30 p.m. on January 3 regarding an investigation into illegal deer harvesting. The department says the officers spoke with Mauk again regarding the investigation on January 12.
