GRAND RAPIDS, MI – New improvements are coming to Riverside Park in honor of former Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss.
A new outdoor classroom space and nature grove will be built in the middle of the park, offering a space for visitors to sit and learn about Riverside Park’s history. The new space is expected to open in 2027, according to the city.
The city said the project was initiated by a private citizen group that approached the parks and recreation department in the hopes of developing a park-specific improvement project to honor Bliss, who served two terms as mayor before stepping down in 2024 due to term limits…
