Roots Market + Eatery has quietly soft-opened in downtown Plainfield, bringing a new market-and-eatery concept built around farm-fresh meat, cheese, produce and other locally made goods. Joe Alexander, identified by the town’s post as a lifelong Hendricks County resident and recent Plainfield transplant, is serving as the market’s general manager. The debut marks the latest visible step in the long-discussed effort to breathe new life into the stretch of Main Street that town leaders have been eyeing for months.
