NY weather: Look for freezing drizzle in part of New York Saturday morning

The National Weather Service issued a report at 6:32 a.m. on Saturday for freezing drizzle until 8:30 a.m. for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Cayuga, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties.

“Surface observations and radar imagery indicate patchy freezing drizzle falling out of a low-hanging cloud deck over the region early this morning. This may lead to a few icy spots on untreated surfaces such as roads, bridges, ramps, parking lots, driveways and sidewalks. Motorists should exercise extra caution if traveling early this morning and be prepared for areas of black ice. Drizzle is expected to dissipate by mid-morning, with temperatures rising back above freezing after sunrise clearing up any icy spots that may have developed,” explains the weather service.
