RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) – Families gathered at the Central Mississippi Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Center for an afternoon of dancing, singing, games, and fellowship on World Down Syndrome Day.
“It’s always celebrated every year on March the 21st because our individuals that have Down syndrome have an extra 21st chromosome – so they have three 21st chromosomes,” said Judy Qualls, executive director of the Central Mississippi Down Syndrome Society.
