Skateland’s new mascot Captain Skateland rolls into Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Skateland in Rockford has a new addition to the team. Captain Skateland came all the way from Pennsylvania to Rockford and found his forever home.

“He originally was created for, benefit dedicated to patients and doctors. he belonged to Doug Mackey of Omni Event, who is a childhood friend of the owners. They have been holding him, and they came to help us with our lighting and were like this is a perfect spot,” said Tommy Goldstein, General Manager at Skateland.

He used to be called Captain Crash but was repainted and rebranded to Captain Skateland. Goldstein stated that the captain got here on a Penske traveling a little more than 815 miles. “The owner started in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and he had people from there that helped him hook up the captain into a box truck. He literally was flying all the way to Rockford,” said Goldstein…
