A man with a gunshot wound to the chest was found in a Gulf Freeway parking lot early Saturday, and Houston police now believe the actual shooting may have gone down somewhere else. Officers applied chest seals at the scene and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where his condition has not been released. Detectives say the investigation is active and ongoing.
Officers were called to the 11400 block of the Gulf Freeway around 1 a.m., according to FOX 26 Houston. When patrol units arrived, they found the man suffering from a chest wound. Lt. Ali told the station that first responders used chest seals before the victim was taken to the hospital. Investigators with HPD’s Major Assaults Division have taken over the case.

Per the Houston Police Department, detectives with the Major Assaults unit are leading the probe and canvassing the area for witnesses along with any surveillance video that might show how the wounded man ended up in the parking lot.
