East Chatham Shooting Leaves Woman Injured

A Saturday argument on Chicago’s South Side turned into a shooting when a man pulled a gun and shot a 47-year-old woman in the right leg in East Chatham, according to police. She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was reported to be in good condition.

What police say

Chicago police said the violence broke out around 11:56 a.m. in the 8100 block of South Drexel Avenue after an argument with two men became physical. One of the men pulled out a firearm and shot the woman in the right leg, officers told reporters. She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, according to FOX 32 Chicago. Area Two detectives are handling the case, police said.
