Old Town Tavern’s next-door encore stalls as Scottsdale debates parking

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Old Town Scottsdale has long been a hub for nightlife, but a decades-old bar’s plan to expand by moving next door has run into a major obstacle at City Hall: parking.

Old Town Tavern, a staple in the entertainment district for about 40 years, received unanimous approval from Scottsdale’s Planning Commission to relocate to a nearby space and expand. But the proposal stalled at the City Council after members raised concerns about whether the move would worsen already-tight parking in Old Town.
