Spokane Valley firefighters give 700+ winter coats to local kids in need

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley Firefighters Local 876 raised $15,000 this winter to provide more than 700 winter coats to local children, according to a social media post from the organization.

The effort marked the ninth year of the union’s Operation Warm program, which distributed coats to students at 18 schools across three school districts.

Students at preschools, kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools and student engagement centers in West Valley School District, Central Valley School District and East Valley School District received coats starting in November.
