1 sent to hospital following reported slashing in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An investigation is currently underway into a reported slashing that occurred in Albany early Sunday morning, according to the Albany Police Department. The incident reportedly took place in the 400 block of Madison Avenue, near Lark Street.

Police were dispatched to the scene at about 4:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers said they found a 35-year-old man with a laceration to his face.

The victim was reportedly taken to Albany Medical Center. He is currently listed in stable condition, police said.

Further investigation determined that he and the suspect were involved in an altercation prior to the slashing. Authorities said the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
