MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) — Spring is in full swing across the Lowcountry, and public spaces are coming back to life as families take advantage of warmer, breezy weather. At Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park, dozens gathered throughout the day spreading out picnic blankets, letting kids run and play, and simply enjoying time outdoors after months of cooler temperatures.
“The weather out here today is absolutely and sure to be fantastic,” said Shannon Westernan, a visitor from Charleston, West Virginia.
From early morning walks to afternoon hangouts, the park quickly filled with activity. Some visitors arrived as early as 7 a.m., walking their dogs or taking in the peaceful waterfront views before crowds rolled in.
