Couple sentenced after pleading to insurance fraud over $100,000

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Thomas Alexander George, 49, and Tamika Hampton, 43, have been sentenced after entering pleas of nolo contendere to making a fraudulent insurance claim over $100,000.

According to an affidavit filed by the Florida Department of Financial Services, George was involved in a crash on June 7, 2019 and filed an insurance claim. George and Hampton claimed that George suffered a traumatic brain injury, along with cognitive and physical impairments, because of that crash. Over the next four years, George was treated by at least six different medical providers to support his claim that he had been seriously injured…
