Mississippi College Softball Falls to Trevecca Nazarene in Series Finale

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mississippi College’s softball team fell 8-6 to Trevecca Nazarene in the series finale Saturday. The Trojans jumped out to an early lead and maintained it through most of the game.

Trevecca Nazarene scored twice in the first inning and added three more in the second, highlighted by a three-run homer from Annalise Mecklenburg. The Trojans extended their lead to 7-1 after four innings and scored another run in the fifth.

The Choctaws responded with a late rally, collecting 11 hits in the game. Shelby Samples went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Blakely Gill and Madelyn England each had two hits and scored twice. Samples also doubled and drove in two runs in the fifth inning, helping cut the deficit…
