CHICAGO — A man has been charged in connection with the fire that claimed the life of Chicago Fire Department firefighter Michael Altman.
Sheaves Slate, 27, has been charged with first-degree murder, residential arson and aggravated arson, according to police. He was initially taken into custody earlier this week on an outstanding warrant and was subsequently charged in the firefighter’s death.
