A Wichita man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident near the Sedgwick County Zoo last weekend, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said.
The collision, which was reported just after midnight on March 15, killed 29-year-old pedestrian Adam Wayne Condit of Wichita. A motorist involved in the crash left the scene, prompting the Sheriff’s Office to put out a call for tips in order to identify the vehicle and its driver.
The day after the crash, deputies with the agency found the damaged dark blue Dodge Ram 1500 involved in the collision thanks to tipsters. The driver was not immediately identified but on Friday, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a press release, a 21-year-old man was taken into custody in connection with the fatal hit-and-run.
