LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville church will unveil a new sculpture Sunday, created from parts of firearms collected during community gun disposal events.
The 6-foot metal piece, titled Healing the Earth, was created by local blacksmith Craig A. Kaviar and will be installed in the front plaza of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church.
The sculpture was made using metal from guns dismantled during safe-disposal events organized by Guns to Gardens Louisville, a nonprofit that repurposes unwanted firearms into tools, art and other items to help reduce gun violence in the community…
