Gravesite marker dedicated at Cave Hill Cemetery for 1st woman elected Jefferson Co. superintendent

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A pioneering Louisville woman was honored on Sunday.

Rosa Stonestreet became the first woman to be elected as superintendent of schools in Jefferson County in 1897, 20 years before women even had the right to vote in the United States.
