Electrical fault sparks $50K damage in Baton Rouge house fire

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Fire Department (BRFD) responded to a house fire Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the 2200 block of Idle Oaks Drive around 6:01 p.m. Saturday, March 21. Upon arrival, crews found two residents outside the home and heavy smoke coming from the front door.

Smoke and fire were found in the garage. BRFD said the fire was contained to that area, and firefighters were able to get the fire under control around 6:12 p.m…
