EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon is raising tuition for incoming students for the third consecutive year.
The UO Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Tuesday to approve the tuition hike for incoming freshmen. While in-state undergraduate tuition will rise by 4.5%, out-of-state tuition will see a 3% increase.
“We are cross-subsidizing resident students with non-resident tuition and so that’s why you’re getting a recommendation that has a higher rate increase on the resident side,” said Jamie Moffitt, UO Chief Financial Officer. “But we also acknowledged that and talked about the fact that when you look at sticker price, we are already the highest tuition level in Oregon of the seven campuses.”…
