The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal shooting on Bergenline Avenue in Union City early Monday morning as David Pulgarin, 42, of North Bergen.
Just after 1:50 a.m. on March 23, 2026, the Union City Police Department was notified of an altercation and shots fired in the area of Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street. Responding officers located Pulgarin with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
Footage obtained by HudPost shows a masked individual firing at a person on the street. The victim then moved toward the shooter, and the two struggled briefly before the shooter fled the scene. The victim is then seen falling face forward to the ground…
