Cleveland trying again to buy vacant CVS once slated for a gas station; owner says no deal reached

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland is moving forward with an attempt to buy a vacant CVS that neighbors once rallied to save from becoming a gas station, though the owners say no deal has been reached.

Mayor Justin Bibb’s administration is introducing legislation Monday to purchase the property for $635,000, with plans to build a new fire station that replaces nearby aging station 23.

The building’s owner, however, has been moving forward with plans to divide the vacant drugstore into a new shopping plaza that does not include a gas station…
