Spartanburg city council proposes new location for clock tower after removal

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Spartanburg City Council has proposed a new location for the city’s historic clock tower after previously making the controversial decision to remove it.

The city, at a meeting on Monday, proposed putting the clock tower at the entrance of a newly renovated performance space at Barnet Park.

The Zimmerli Amphitheater will undergo renovations that include major improvements to its roof, officials said.

The newly placed clock tower is proposed to be wider than the original by officials.
