Junkyard car fire causes massive plume of smoke west of Downtown Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A multi-car junkyard fire on Jacksonville’s Westside caused a massive plume of black smoke visible from Downtown and much of I-10/I-295 Monday.

A spokesperson with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department told First Coast News multiple cars were on fire at a junkyard on the 6600 block of West Beaver Street after the smoke was spotted on tower cameras around 12:40 p.m. Monday.
