Alabama lawmaker’s child accidentally shoots sibling in Lawrence County

An investigation is underway after one of the children of Alabama State Representative Ernie Yarbrough accidently shot another of his children, according to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on County Road 460 in the Trinity community. The sheriff’s office says a preliminary investigation indicates that the child retrieved a .556 caliber rifle from a bedroom and accidentally discharged the weapon striking the child’s brother in the shoulder.
