MARCY, N.Y. — A former prison guard sentenced in the beating death of inmate and Greece native Robert Brooks has been transferred out of New York.
News10NBC’s affiliate in Utica reports that the State Department of Corrections confirmed that Nicholas Anzalone was transferred to the custody of the Maine Department of Corrections.
“On March 5, 2026, the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) transferred incarcerated individual Nicholas Anzalone from New York State custody to the custody of the Maine Department of Corrections pursuant to the Interstate Corrections Compact between the State of New York and the State of Maine.
