Santa Barbara County bomb squad says explosion at UPS Store was caused by fire extinguisher

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said that a reported package explosion at a UPS Store in Carpinteria on Monday afternoon was caused by a fire extinguisher.

The sheriff first reported the explosion in an X post shortly after 3 pm. The UPS Store is located in the Casitas Plaza Shopping Center on Casitas Pass Road.
