2 local women face EMS bills for unwanted treatment

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Two Savannah women spoke to WSAV on Monday about how they’re being “unfairly billed” for emergency services they say they didn’t ask for.

In August, Gail Thomas tripped at a local YMCA and braced herself with her hand. She said she hurt two fingers in the fall but didn’t feel like there was an emergency at hand.

When YMCA personnel told her they needed to call an ambulance due to YMCA policy, she told them she’d felt she had the ability to drive herself to the hospitals. They called anyway…
