(KRON) — The Hawaiian islands experienced the worst flooding in more than 20 years this March. Some Bay Area residents were vacationing in Hawaii when the flooding started.
Michael Cuffe, of Napa, had planned a vacation to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. But cartel violence last month caused him to pivot and book a trip to Hawaii’s Oahu island instead. He had no idea that he’d be traveling into record-breaking flooding.
As more than a foot of rain poured on Oahu, Cuffe and his wife, Jessie Prohaska, documented the downpours on Instagram. Cuffe’s video of their rained-out vacation has been viewed more than 1.5 million times…
