MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A woman from Mobile has been charged with contempt of court after showing up to her jury trial without an attorney.

According to court documents, a jury trial for April Gibbs was set to begin today. However, Gibbs, accused of killing and dismembering Larry James Bradford in 2015, did not have counsel in court on the morning of Monday, March 23.

Gibbs was ordered to return to court at 2 p.m. with the court-ordered documents, as well as legal representation.

She allegedly did not show up for court at 2 p.m. and is now charged with criminal contempt. This hearing, as well as a status hearing on the case, is set to be held on Tuesday, March 24…
