BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A bill related to the reinstatement of suspended driver’s licenses was approved in committee with amendments Monday.
House Bill 722, authored by State Rep. Terry Landry Jr. (D-Baton Rouge), proposes the automatic reinstatement of driver’s licenses that were suspended, cancelled, or revoked after the payment of fees is made in full and proof of payment of fines is provided. The proposal would be an exception to the current law.
Landry told lawmakers in the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works that the bill aims to give the process a “practical approach.”…
