Fire put out at waste management facility after plume of smoke blew over I-70

DENVER (KDVR) — Firefighters put out a fire at a waste management facility after smoke and flames could be seen in Denver.

The Denver Fire Department said a call for a fire came in at 6:35 a.m. on Monday. About an hour later, crews were still working to extinguish the fire at East 48th Avenue, which is a waste management facility near Colorado Boulevard and I-70.

The fire department said it was a trash fire. SkyFOX flew over the fire, where smoke could be seen on the interstate.

The fire department said there were no injuries. At this time, it’s unclear what started the fire…
