Zoning Board approves QuickChek near Exit 8 of Northway over objections from residents

CLIFTON PARK — Despite public fears that a proposed QuickChek will cause health and traffic hazards for surrounding homes and businesses near Crescent Road, the town’s Zoning Board approved the gas station and convenience store.

The Zoning Board approved the project by a vote of 4-2 on March 16, rejecting a formal appeal from resident Kamran Baig, who sought to force the board to require the developers to seek a special use permit for the project.

The board ultimately sided with the town’s Zoning Administrator Scott Reese, who said a special use permit was not necessary for the proposed 14-nozzle gas station and 5,852-square-foot convenience store because it was a permitted use…
